Cancel your Home Insurance policy

Your right to withdraw from the home insurance contract - "Cooling-off period"

When you purchase a home insurance policy from us, you have a fourteen-day period during which you can change your mind and withdraw from the contract. This fourteen-day period starts from the date on which your insurance policy commences or the date on which you receive your policy documents, whichever is later. If you decide to cancel your insurance policy during this period, your insurer may make a proportionate charge for the time your insurance has been in force, and a proportionate charge may also be made for any add-on policies you may have taken. In addition, we will retain a charge up to £15 for the set up of the policy. As long as you have not made any home insurance claims, any other money you may have paid us will then be refunded. If you wish to exercise your right to withdraw from your insurance policy you should advise us of this by calling us on 0870 220 2753 or by writing to us at: Cover Direct, Freepost MID26302, Stoke on Trent, ST4 4WW. You must return with this letter any Schedule we have sent to you.
